BIOGRAPHY:
Right after the release of their last album on May 2010 and after their tour around the country, The Cabriolets continue on the road thanks to the GPS iniciative, www.girandoporsalas.com. But what´s most expected for them is to play at next SXSW festival on March 2011.
After their first album “Demo” 2008 (Warner Music Spain) and the drop out of one of the members of the band, the arrival of Manuel Cabezalí (Havalina) and Pablo Serrano (Lacara) guitar and drums respectively, give the band a new sound. Toghether with Diego Postigo and Eleonora Bosé and after the release of their new LP “Close” the band goes on tour all over Spain with around 40 concerts already at this time and still on the road for a dozen more for what´s left of year.
All four of them give a reformed impulse to the new repertory, which originates from a spontaneous way of composing, not deliberate but in search of the immediacy and strength of the live performance. The album has been composed almost entirely at the rehersal studio, keeping in mind and with the intention of not to intervene in the process.
The new album keeps the energy of the live performance, recorded almost entirely on first takes, composed completely by drums, bass, guitar and voice, in collaboration with Charlie Bautista on some extra intrumentation (piano, keyboards, flute, accordeon and voices), leaving us with the result of the new Cabriolets sound. Recorded at Dani Richter´s studio, El Lado Izquierdo (Madrid).
